How to Select the Right Needle Point

Profile Point Name: Groz-Beckert Point Name : Organ Symbol Description Application
R RD Regular round point Universal Application for Lockstitch and woven cloth
RS/SPI R Sharp round point Standard for Blindstitch.  Also for very straight stitch lines (susceptible to damage)
RG R Round point with slightly rounded tip Recommended application for Chainstitch knitted fabrics and button sewing.
FFG/SES BP Light ball point For all kind of knitted, woven and synthetic fabrics.
FG/SUK SUK Medium ball point For highly elastic material with rubber elastic content
G/SKF G Heavy ball point For coarser materials of high elasticity.  Also for open-structured fabric.
SKL SKL Special ball point Knitted and woven fabric with high content of elasticity( Lycra, Dorlanstan, etc)
SD SD Round point with a small triangular cutting edge at the tip For plastic foils, laminates and leather clothing
  P NW Narrow Wedge point For dense stitch formation in leather.  Edge and cup seams on upper.
  S NCR Narrow Cross point For long stitch deeply set and very straight stitch lines in leather.
  DI DIA Diamond point For straight stitch lines in hard and dense leathers and for bag seams.
  LR RTW Narrow reverse twist point For slanted stitch appearance in leathers and ornamental seams.
  VR NRTWSP Narrow reverse twist point (NRTWSP/RTWSP) For stronger cutting effect of slanted stitch appearance in leathers and ornamental seams.
  LL NTW Narrow twist point Stitch appearance almost straight.  For regular joining seams in leather.
  D TRI Triangular point Stitch appearance almost straight.  For hard and dense leathers.
  DU RTRI Reverse triangular point For twin needle machines (left needle) to match the seam of the right needle (triangular point)
  Q SQ Square point For heavy, hard and homogeneous materials.  Bags seams.
  QR RSQ Reverse Square point For heavy, hard and homogeneous materials.  Bags seams.
  STAY STAY Flattened round point For heavy, hard and homogeneous materials.  Bags seams.  Also for buttonholes in leather clothing.
